On June 4-7, Prof. Julio Berbel and Dr. Antonio Hurtado from the University of Cordoba attended the 8th Europe Congress of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), held in Lisbon, Portugal.
Founded in 1935, IAHR is a worldwide independent organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Following the tradition of previous events, the 8th IAHR Europe Congress provided an interesting scientific programme including lectures, oral and poster presentations, and opportunities to meet with colleagues and learn about new developments in water-related research.
Prof. Berbel and Dr Hurtado’s activities in the event included the presentation of the studies titled “Impacts of the implementation of efficiency targets at river basin scale”, “Impact of implementation of efficiency targets in public water supply”, and “DPSIR analysis of the closure of water resources in the Axarquía region (southern Spain)” in three sessions on the governance and management of water resources. The event provided a valuable opportunity to share and discuss with other experts the preliminary results of their research currently underway within the framework of the BONEX project.
