On November 14th 2024, the Theban Youth Association for Agricultural Development and Fish Farming Cooperative implemented at the Jordan BONEX DP site a Field Day in cooperation with the USAID,ย Water Conservation Project. The event was attended by GJU BONEX team.
The objective of the field day was to introduce farmers to water-saving technologies where a detailed explanation of the application of new irrigation technologies in the Hydroponic Greenhouses implemented and supervised by the BONEX project team in Jordan; GJU and IUCN.
The field day also went through a comparison between the quantities of water used in the hydroponic irrigation systems and conventional irrigation systems.
The field day helped educating farmers on the importance of rationalizing water consumption in agriculture through Introducing to them the hydroponic irrigation systems as an effective solution to save water and encouraged them to adopt modern irrigation systems to improve water use efficiency.
The BONEX DP site is becoming a venue for awareness and education to the farmers in the Madaba and Dhiban area to spread knowledge of adopting efficient and new irrigation methods and technologies.
