BONEX team celebrating the National Agriculture Day of Tunisia with CRDA Monastir
Every year on 12th of May, Tunisia commemorates the National Agriculture Day. Numerous events are organized (conferences, fairs, exhibitions, etc.) during more than a week to highlight success stories and to address the most critical issues related to the agricultural sector. Besides, specific political measures are often taken on this occasion.
On 16 May 2023, BONEX Team in Tunisia (Abdellaziz Zairi, Abir Ben Slimane, Syrine Jemaa, and the coordinator of BONEX, Olfa Mahjoub) contributed to this celebration with the Regional Directorate of Agricultural Development of Monastir (CRDA Monastir), in presence of the newly appointed Director General, Ms. Farida Joumade Mansour.
BONEX team was invited to give a presentation introduce the project, its objectives and expected results. WEFE Nexus concept, an overview on BONEX Project, and the reuse of reclaimed water in Tunisia and in Ouardanine were introduced to more than 60 participants including various stakeholders among which members of the Regional Working Group of the Tunisian DP in BONEX, like farmers, technicians, and administration representatives. In addition to featuring the agricultural sector in Monastir through figures and statistics, a presentation was given by a BONEX Steering Committee member, Mr. Nabil Majdoub, on water resources management in Monastir. Besides, several SMEs were invited to introduce their achievements and products. BONEX team’s active involvement in this event, alongside representatives of SMEs and stakeholders, contributed to fostering knowledge exchange, highlighting success stories, and promoting future collaborations for the development of the agricultural sector.
